Members of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) on Tuesday joined their colleagues across the country to staged solidarity protest to demand for the payment of N30,000 as minimum wage in the country.
The workers who trooped out in large numbers walked peacefully from Okefia area to Ola Iya junction with placards with various inscriptions demanding for prompt attention to their demands from government.
Speaking with newsmen on the development, the state chairman of the TUC, Comrade Adebowale Adekola stressed the need to sensitise the public on the need to review the minimum wage of workers from N18,000 to N30,000.
He also condemned the introduction of ‘no work, no pay’ policy of the government adding that they are totally against it because it is contrary to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) regulation and Nigeria is a member of ILO.
