CIFIAN Inducts New Members, Beg Reps To Pass Bill — Leadership Newspaper

Chartered Institute Of Forensic & Investigative Auditors of Nigeria (CIFIAN) has inducted 43 new members into the body, even as it urged the House of Representatives to expedite action on the passage of the forensic and investigative auditors bill. The induction was done in Abuja at the weekend.

Pro-tem President of CIFIA, Dr Victoria Enape remarked that CIFIAN is an anti fraud body saddled with the responsibility of providing skills to relevant professionals using scientific and technological approach for prevention, detection and investigation of fraud, putting in place mechanisms to prevent future occurrence and illicit financial flows in the country.

Enape said while forensic and investigative audit is about prevention, detection and investigation of fraud using technology in line with global best practices, accounting bodies is about compliance and assurance audit and not fraud investigation.
