No Going Back On Our Indefinite Strike, ASUP Vows — Leadership Newspaper

Polytechnic lecturers have vowed never to suspend the indefinite strike action it embarked upon until the federal government implements agreements it reached with their union since year 2010.

 

The polytechnic lectures, under the aegis of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) also called on Nigerians to prevail on the federal government and save the polytechnic sector from total collapse.

 

ASUP at a press conference addressed yesterday at the main campus of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, Ogun State, said the consistent failure of the federal government to implement agreements reached with the union forced it to embark on the indefinite strike which entered the 10th day today.

 

Addressing journalists, ASUP’s coordinator for Zone C, Olawale Omobaorun explained that the federal government has entered into agreements with the union on three different occasions under different nomenclature since year 2010 without fulfilling them.
