Governor Yahaya Bello’s tenure was born in controversy and even worse. At the time he mounted the saddle in Kogi State, the “Confluence State” was, literally speaking, a hotbed of insecurity and virtually in tatters. “Operation Total Freedom” that he introduced drastically brought the situation to normalcy: indigenes are traveling home again without fear of being kidnapped or molested. For his achievements in the area of security, in agriculture, in youth empowerment and civil service reform, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is the LEADERSHIP Governor of Year 2018.

After successfully wresting Kogi from the fangs of those who thought the state should remain in bondage while they fed fat, the governor began the process of garnering resources to tackle insecurity head-on.
