The National Association of Nigerian Traders(NANTS),has called on the federal government to resist negotiations by some key representatives of Nigeria at the 11th World Trade Organisation, WTO ministerial conference in Buenos Aires,Argentina under the guise of ‘Friends of e-commerce Development’ in 2017.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja,President of NANTS,Barr.Ken Ukaoha expressed concern with processes of involving Nigeria in various international agreements, especially when these agreements have to do with the subject of trade which has taken a highly technical dimension in contemporary times.
According to Ukaoha, Nigeria’s key representatives committed the country to some agreements and declarations including the European Free Trade Association Joint Declaration on Corporation, Friends of Investment Facilitation for Development and Friends of Ecommerce for Development,saying these were done without due and prior consultation with stakeholders of the…
