Rivers Govt To Probe PDP Agent’s Murder — Leadership Newspaper

The Rivers State government has said it with set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to probe the alleged killing of an agent of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Ferry Gberegbe, by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) during the suspended Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in the state.

Gberegbe, a senior lecturer at the Kenule Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, died yesterday morning in an undisclosed hospital, from gunshot injuries he sustained when alleged F-SARS operatives invaded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Bori, headquarters of Khana local government area of Rivers State.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, who spoke yesterday when he led chieftains of the PDP on a condolence visit to the family of the slain lecturer in Port Harcourt, announced a N200million scholarship for the four children of the late Gberegbe.
