Nigeria’s U-19 cricket team, Junior Yellow Greens, have brightened their chance of competing in 2020 age-group World Cup following their second successive victory at the ongoing ICC Africa World Cup qualifiers at United Cricket Ground in Windhoek, Namibia. They defeated their Kenyan counterparts with 58 runs in the second match, yesterday. 

Put in to bat first, Nigeria scored 201 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 50 overs with Elijah Olaleye hit half a century, 73 off 105 deliveries with five boundaries. He was Nigeria’s highest runs getter.

Captain Slyvester Okpe scored unbeaten half a ton, 55 off 72 balls with four boundaries and two sixes. Sulaiman (41 off 67 balls with two boundaries) was the other Nigerian batsman who shone with the bat.

In the second innings, Kenya started brilliantly in their run chase losing the first wicket after 40 runs.
