NIS Nabs 4 Over Alleged Human Trafficking In Ekiti — Leadership Newspaper

A 35-year-old woman, Mary Omowaye was on Wednesday arrested by men of Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for alleged human trafficking.

Omowaye was apprehended alongside three persons at the Command’s passport office in Ado Ekiti while trying to procure international passports for them to travel to Italy for illegal works.

The suspected victims of the exposed human trafficking said to be from Idanre town in Ondo State are: Adegoroye Abiodun, 24, Akinsanmi Titilayo Blessing, 30 and Adeyan Motunrayo, 20.

Speaking while handing over the suspects to the officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) on Wednesday the NIS Comptroller in the state, Mrs Ifeoma Benedict Dibia, said they were arrested after NIS operatives got wind of their destination.
