The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has urged stakeholders in the nation’s tourism sector to step up their games in tourism propagation, saying they can get it right and accelerate the country’s economic growth without government intervention.
He made this known when members of National Association of Tour Operators(NATOP) paid a courtesy visit to his palace in Ile-Ife.
The monarch said, “It is very important for us in Nigeria to propagate tourism which is the future of this country. We don’t need to wait for government, we are enough. Put government aside we are enough to get things right, the government can come and join us.
‘’What we have in Nigeria can take us to another level we don’t even need oil and gas, and I think that has been the greatest misfortune of this country discovering oil and gas.”
