Edo Govt Assesses Impact In Iguobazuwa, Assures Of Relief Materials — Leadership Newspaper

The Edo State Government has assured victims of a windstorm in Iguobazuwa, headquarters of Ovia South-West Local Government Area, of government’s support in ameliorating the impact of the incident, which caused severe damage in the area.

Special Adviser to Edo State Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Yakubu Gowon, gave the assurance when he led the government’s delegation to Iguobazuwa, for an impact assessment of the incident, which occurred on Sunday, March 24, 2019.

He said a report containing findings by the team will be forwarded to the governor after which the required relief materials would be dispatched to cushion the effect of the windstorm which reportedly damaged 21 buildings, including a public school.

He noted, “We thank God no life was lost to the natural disaster. Governor Godwin Obaseki asked us to come here for on-the-spot-assessment of the damage. Now that we have done our assessment, we will take record of the buildings affected and other valuables. We will…
