The All Progressives Congress (APC) adopted candidate for the ninth senate presidency seat, Senator Ahmad Lawan, may be heading on a collision course with the Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led executives of the party, even as the Senate Leader accused Oshiomhole of de-marketing his candidacy by his utterances.

Bickering within the ruling party came to the fore on Wednesday when Senator Lawan vowed in deference to party’s stand to work with the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to realise his ambition.

Spokesman of his campaign, Senator Abdullahi Sabi, at a press conference in Abuja, told PDP to ignore the threat by the national chairman of the party who said the APC-led ninth Senate would not share power with the opposition.

Although the APC won majority seat (64seats) in the senate while PDP has 43 senators-elect, a candidate would require some opposition votes to win the seat.
