The Nasarawa state government is not leaving any stone unturned in its efforts at ensuring that the Lafia Cargo Airport commences operations in May, this year. Danjuma Joseph reports
Nasarawa state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has assured that aircraft would land and take-off from the Lafia Cargo Airport before May 29th, this year.
Al-Makura, disclosed this in Lafia, the state capital, stating that the contractors were working round the clock to meet up with the timeline to ensure completion of the project.
Al-Makura, expressed optimism that Lafia Cargo Airport would be able to have aircraft landing and taking off before May 29th 2019.
Leadership Sunday visited the Lafia Cargo Airport site and reported that work was progressing on the basic components that make up the airport, vis-a-vis the runways, which is about 2.5 km, and was ready for the fourth and final coat of stone-base before the final and last layer of asphalt top.
