Advocacy Group Harps On Family Planning To Achieve Millennium Development Goals — Leadership Newspaper

A group operating under the aegis of Advocacy Network of Nigeria (ANN) has warned that the aims and objectives of the Millennium Development Goals may not be achievable without proper implementation and acceptance of family planning by Nigerians.

The group’s chairman, Sheikh Salahudeen Busari while speaking during advocacy programme held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Correspondents’ Chapel, Ibadan, Oyo State, said the provision of basic amenities like free education, free health services,  housing might not be possible without proper control of the population.

He said other countries of the world have been able to control their population to make life more meaningful for their citizens.

According to him, if the federal government can effectively control the population, the problem of unemployment in the country would be reduced drastically if not totally eliminated.
