The Olu of Iyemero Ekiti in Ikole Local government area of Ekiti State, Oba Ebeneezer Ogungbemi, has commended the state  government over security measures taken to protect the town from attacks.

In a letter dated April, 20 ,2019 and addressed to governor Kayode Fayemi, by the monarch and members of his council lauded the government for ordering military Joint Task Force patrol across Ekiti-Kwara border to tame killer bandits terrorising the town.

The traditional council said the combined forces of military and local hunters would curtail the activities of the suspected killer herders and restore peace to the community.

Some suspected herdsmen had on Monday last besieged a farmstead called Eda, a village under Iyemero and shot two persons and also raided some houses during the midnight attack.
