In this interview with BAYO AMODU AND JULIANA AGBO, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rev Tor Uja speaks on efforts to improve pilgrimage’s template in a bid to enhance efficient service delivery.
What are the efforts made to improve pilgrimage’s template since you assumed office in 2016?
May 2016 till now is about three years. And it has been very eventful and tremendous years, one of the major thing we have done is to retool Christian pilgrimage, to redefine and reposition it, make it more programmed, more purposeful and set an agenda for it that is memorable. We decided that pilgrimage should have a divine focus, people should go with an expectation and come back with something. I will give three dimensions of pilgrimage, one is focus on Christ pilgrimage and expanding the knowledge of Christ to all pilgrims so that they come back as better Christians.
