Reps Peg Recruitment Age Into MDAs At 45 


The bill, when finally assented to would stipulate that all Nigerians aged 45 and below would be eligible for employment into MDAs.

Also, this age limit is applied to the military, police and other paramilitary organisations.

Until this altercation, the age limit for recruitment is pegged at minimum of 30 years.

The decision of the green chamber to jack-up the recruitment age is hinged on the reports of discrimination against age of the unemployed youths.

This followed a bill for an act to prohibit discrimination against job seekers in federal government agencies (eradication) and allied matters act sponsored by Hon. Sergius Ogun (PDP, Edo)

It was considered in the committee of the whole led by Deputy speaker, Lasun Yussuff. The lawmakers want the bill to address the age challenges faced by job seekers in MDAs.
