FG Hits Back At OBJ Over Comment On Boko Haram


The federal government has described comments credited to former President Olusegun Obasanjo which suggested that the Boko Haram insurgents are fighting for West African Fulanisation and African Islamisation agenda, as divisive and depressing.

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in a statement said it was particularly tragic that a man who fought to keep Nigeria one is the same one seeking to exploit the country’s fault lines to divide it in the twilight of his life.

The government thereby urged the former President to withdraws his unfortunate statement and apologize to Nigerians, at the same time enjoined him not to allow personal animosity override his love for a united Nigeria.
