MOSES ORJIME captures the controversies arising from the debate over the mode of primaries to be adopted in choosing the governorship flagbearers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo and Ondo governorship elections.

As the race for the governorship primary elections of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo and Ondo states heighten, the mode of primary in choosing the party’s candidate has become a thorny issue that may ultimately define the party’s performance in the main gubernatorial polls.

Mindless of the fact that APC is the ruling party in both states, the internal squabbles within the party has seen party leaders doing battle over whether or not direct or indirect primary should be adopted in deciding who fly’s the party’s flag.
