No Court Order Against Inauguration Of NDDC Board, Group Replies Minister

Following a statement in an online newspaper (not LEADERSHIP) credited to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Obong Umana Okon Umana, on Wednesday, that the President had submitted names of nominees as members of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to the Senate and that the lawmakers responded that there is a court order against the composition of the board, the Niger Delta Integrity Group (NDIG) has reacted, telling the Minister that there was no any court order against the composition of the NDDC Board.

In a statement jointly signed by the group’s President, Akpoebide Okotiene, and Secretary, Edet Ekpenyong, NDIG said “there are no court orders anywhere in the country impeding the inauguration of the board of NDDC which was appointed by President Buhari and duly confirmed by the Senate on the 5th of November 2019.”
