The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar says his vote may not count due to what he described as the “malpractices and irregularities” in the 2019 general election.

Atiku spoke after voting at Ajiya ward, Yola north local government area of Adamawa state on Saturday.

“Suddenly, I’m not convinced that my vote will count. You can see a very low voter turnout. I believe the last elections were marred by a lot of malpractices. I particularly abhor the participation of the military in electoral process. It’s absolutely unconstitutional and unlawful” Atiku said.

On how Nigeria can organise a free and fair election in the future, Atiku said: “It requires the coming together of all Nigerians and the leadership to be able to redress all the challenges we face in the last elections.”
