A corps member serving in Calabar was allegedly sprayed with tear gas by the Nigerian police because he asked INEC to pay him for the services he rendered as an adhoc staff during the last elections.

In a video shared online, the corps member is seen being led by a woman because he couldn’t see. His eyes were shut due to the tear gas that had been sprayed on his face.

In another photo taken shorly after the incident, he is seen with a swollen eye – an effect of the tear gas.

A youth corper was sprayed tear gas by @PoliceNG officers yesterday in calabar after he asked for his @inecnigeria payment as an As hoc staff during the last election. This is the part of Nigeria I love to hate, sadly this will be swept under the carpet @UreportNigeria @segalink
