The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Ilorin Zonal Office has secured the conviction of Ogundele Adeseye, 24, who was re-arraigned on a one-count amended charge bordering on internet fraud.

He was convicted by Justice Babangana Ashigar of a Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State, on April 10, 2019 after he pleaded “guilty” to the charge, following a plea bargain agreement.

He was previously arraigned on a five-count charge, which was later amended to one count after plea bargain agreement was reached.

The charge reads: “That you, Ogundele Adeseye, sometimes in July 2018 or thereabouts in Ilorin within the jurisdiction of this honourable court by means of fraudulent trick that you are a white Caucasian and interested in having a relationship, obtained the cumulative sum of $500 (Five Hundred Dollars) in form of iTunes gift cards from one Chase Gliglia, an American Citizen whom you met on seeking.com website (sugarbabysite) by chatting with her using the
