Rapper and entrepreneur, Jay-Z, is set to launch the Roc Nation School Of Music, Sports and Entertainment as his company Roc Nation, has announced a new partnership with Long Island University in Jay-Z’s hometown, Brooklyn.
The classes will begin in 2021 and students will experience hands-on learning while scholarships will be offered based on merit, Roc Nation announced.
The financial support, which the school has dubbed the “Hope Scholarship” will target promising high-schoolers from New York.
The school will be housed at the 15,000-student Long Island University in Brooklyn, and will offer undergraduate degrees in music, music technology, entrepreneurship and production, and sports management, according to The Associated Press.
