The Indigenous People of Biafra has dissociated itself from the Biafra National Guard.
This comes after the Nigerian Army said on Thursday night, October 28, that its troops conducting ‘Exercise Golden Dawn’ have neutralised one of the Biafran National Guard (BNG) gunmen (pictured below) who attacked troops’ location at Amaekpu, Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State on Thursday 28 October 2021.
IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, has however said that its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, does not accept criminal acts, hence there is no link between the IPOb and the BNG.
The statement read in part, “We the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra ably led by our prophet and indefatigable leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to alert IPOB families worldwide and the international community that we do not know of a group called Biafra National Guard and should not be linked in a shape or form with this group whose activities do not correspond with IPOB’S fundamental…
