The police in Rivers state have arrested six persons in connection with the murder of Rivers DPO, SP Bako Angbashim.
LIB had earlier reported that Bako was killed in the Odiemudie Community in the Ahoada East Local Government Area (LGA) of the state during a shootout with some cultists in the area. Read here.
A statement released on the spokesperson of the command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, says the state Commissioner of Police for Rivers State, CP Nwonyi Emeka Polycarp, along with his management team and tactical units, conducted an operation on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at approximately 0600hrs in Odumude Community, Ahaoda East LGA, Rivers State with the objective to recover the deceased DPO’s body and conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the community.
