Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued 207 abducted children nationwide and thwarted multiple bandit attacks across several states.
Force Spokesperson, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, January 20, 2025, said operatives also neutralized threats and recovered sophisticated arms and ammunition.
Adejobi said police dismantled a syndicate involved in child abduction and trafficking in Akure, Ondo State, arrested three suspected child traffickers and rescued 14 children aged between one week and seven years.
According to the spokesperson, gallant operatives of the Kogi State Police Command foiled a bandit attack, neutralised one suspect and arrested four others.
“The Nigeria Police Force in line with its commitment at the beginning of the year to adopt a more proactive approach in its efforts to combat crime across the nation, has once again recorded milestone achievements through intelligence-led policing,” the statement read.
