Many lives are feared to have been lost in a tragic fire incident after a fully loaded tanker burst into flames near Otedola bridge, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway Thursday evening.
Several cars were burnt beyond repair in the fore which quickly spread to houses in the area.
An eyewitness, who said he missed the fire by whiskers, said the fire service “need to sort it out quickly cos there was already traffic when it happened so people are stuck.”
Another witness, Oni, said “My Jesus just saved me from that fire!! Cars were burning up right before my eyes.”
Reacting to the incident which claimed no fewer than 10 lives on the Otedola Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan, President Buhari said in a statement by his media aide Garba Shehu, that the incident was one of the greatest tragedies witnessed in the country in recent times.
