Breaking: INEC declares Osun guber election inconclusive

INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu:

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Saturday’s Osun governorship election as inconclusive.

INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Joseph Afuwape, said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 254,345 votes while opposition Peoples DEmocratic Party (PDP) scored 254,698 votes.

The electoral body announced in Osogbo on Sunday that a rerun should be held in polling units in four local councils where results were cancelled.

The polling units are in Ife North (1), Ife South (2) Orolu(3) and Osogbo(1).

Here are the details of the results.

2.Atakumosa West LG : APC: 5019, PDP: 5401, SDP: 1570, ADP: 718

3.Ifedayo LG: APC: 3182, PDP: 3374, SDP: 1377, ADP: 176.
