Women group raises hope for women prisoners in Delta

To put smiles and hope on the faces of those in detention, a non-governmental organisation known as Dynamic Women Association, DWA, has visited the Agbor Prisons with a call on the female inmates to bear in mind that they could still achieve their aspirations in life.
The founder of the NGO, Mrs. Favour Okolobi who was represented at the visit by the association’s general secretary, Miss Nkem Udegbue, said the visit was to make positive impact on the lives of their fellow women who might have given up on their goals in life behind the prison bars, advising women to stay away from crime and anything that would take them to prison.
Mrs. Okolobi said the life of every woman was dear and special, and women remained peaceful to the building of a prosperous nation.
She advised women to be conscious while living positive and productive lives, in order not to run fowl of the law.
“Our coming here is to make you know that there is life after here. Your been here is not the end of life,” Okolobi advised.
According to her, Dynamic Women Association is an association that was set up to throw up the lives of women, especially the prison inmates.
“We have been able to empower so many indigent women and affects their lives positively as well as touched them tremendously,” she said.
A pastor from the Living Faith Church, Ogwashi-Uku, Henry Mebele who admonished the female inmates charged them never to give up on their dreams and goals in life.
Mebele reminded the inmates they should remain faithful to God and never return to any of their ungodly ways, adding that it was a sure way of living above the condemnation and true peace on earth.
