Indigens of Imala community in the newly created Oke-Ogun Local Council Development Area, have expressed their readiness to challenge Governor Ibikunle Amosun and Ogun State House of Assembly over ceding of Obada/Idi-Emi to another LCDA.
The Indigens, led by their monarch, Omala of Imala, Oba Moses Adelani Olabode, maintained that Obada/Idi-Emi is a community under Imala and would resist any more to merge same with Imeko/Afon local government area of the state.
Obada/Idi-Emi has been a point of controversy since the proposed creation of LCDAs in the state with Imeko/Afon also laying claim to the area.
Addressing a press conference yesterday at his Palace, the Monarch explained that the community would take legal, constitutional and peaceful means to challenge the decision.
Oba Adelani showered appreciation on Governor Ibikunle Amosun of the state for the creation of Oke-Ogun LCDA with Imala as its headquarters.
He however insisted that ceding of Obada/Idi-Emi to Afon LCDA was a dangerous trend that can breed trouble.
Omala who was armed the 2010 directory of polling units in Ogun State published by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said Obada /Idi-Emi has never been part of Imeko Afon as being claimed.
He accessed the Speaker of the state Assembly, Suraj Isola Adekunbi and member representing Imeko Afon State Constituency of lying against history.
The Monarch who explained that Imala had been a District Council through an act of Parliament since 1947 blamed the military for the loss of the status.
