A member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Adeniyi Adeleye has been dragged before a Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital for alleged age falsification and certificate forgery.
Adeleye, a former caretaker Chairman of Remo North local government of the state is representing the same constituency at the Assembly.
He is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and acted as the personal assistance to Ogun East Senatorial Candidate of the party, Dapo Abiodun during the electioneering campaign.
The embattled lawmaker in a suit number, FHC/AB/05/34/16 was alleged to have included forged school certificate with others forms presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for his election into the assembly.
He was also alleged to have attached a forget age declaration which the plaintiffs said does not reflect the true age of the lawmaker.
The plaintiffs, Wasiu Gbadebo and Olumuiya Onamuyiwa, had approached the court through their counsel, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) for determination on the status of the lawmaker at the Assembly.
In a 10-page written address attached to the charge sheet, the plaintiffs said Adebiyi claimed to have attended Ode-Remo Community High School between 1986 to 1993.
He was also said to have earned an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) certificatr from the Federal College of Freshwater Fisheries Technology, New Bussa, Niger State.
They argued that the defendant allegedly attached a false school leaving certificate and National Diploma Examination result to the INEC form CF-001.
He was also alleged to have lied under oath over his declaration of age.
They also claimed that the lawmaker was an art student at his secondary school and graduated with only one credit during his West African Examination, WAEC result.
