Acting Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, Mr. Femi Akingbade has expressed confidence in the significant role the National Orientation Agency, NOA, can play in mobilising Nigerians towards enrolling for health insurance scheme.
This was contained in a press release signed by Ayo Osinlu, Head, Media & Public Relations and sent to Nigerian Pilot yesterday in Abuja.
The release stated Akingbade’s confidence on the agency when he paid a courtesy call on the new Director General of the Agency, Dr, Garba Abari, in his office in Abuja.
The NHIS boss said that the visit was to congratulate Dr. Garba Abari on his new appointment, adding that his track record justifies eminently, as he is noted in the academic community to stand tall in issues of character and duty.
Akingbade further urged the DG to renew the existing relationship between the two agencies towards building a joint platform for the effective delivery of their respective duties.
He noted that the nation continues to look up to NHIS to make access to effective healthcare easy for the people, through the provision of various platforms of entry into health insurance for the different classes of people, taking into account the diverse challenges faced by different people, with reference to social and economic circumstances.
He noted particularly the persistent need to keep providing information and education for potential enrolees, thereby assisting them to recognise the benefits of health insurance, so that they can make informed decisions in favour of enrolment.
