No plan to retire senior officers – NAF

Nigerian Air Force, NAF has denied media report that it is going to retire senior officers.
Last Friday, the Nigerian army retired over 40 senior officers fuelling speculation that the retirement was ill conceived and that the other arms of the military, the Nigerian Air Force and the Navy may follow suit.
But NAF in a statement yesterday by its Director of Public Relations & Information, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, denied such insinuations maintaining that it is an imagination of those who don’t like the unity of Nigeria and therefore asked members of the public to disregard the news.
Famuyiwa’s statement said the allegation that the NAF is at the verge of retiring a number of senior officers connected with the ongoing investigation of arms purchase under the immediate past administration is not true, baseless and unfounded.
The statement therefore said, “It is pertinent to state that this story is unfounded and did not emanate from the NAF. The Press is therefore please advised to always confirm their story with the NAF before publication.
