Air Force chief pledges to build capacity of personnel

The Nigerian Air Force has promised to build the capacity of its personnel to enable them to deal with the current security challenge in the country.
The Chief of Air Staff, AVM Sadiq Abubakar, made the promise when he addressed the officers and men of the Nigeria Air Force Base (NAF), in Kaduna on Friday.
He also stressed that the new leadership of the air force would lay emphasis on personnel capacity, maintenance and stability of airplanes.
The air force chief, who was on familiarisation visit to the base, said he would undertake in depth assessment of their needs in order to strengthen their capacity to meet the challenges of the time.
He commended personnel of the air force training college, saying that they had acquited themselves well in carrying out their responsibilities.
Abubakar pledged to ensure that all challenges facing the institution were promptly addressed.
“We have the research and development centre in the organisation which will be used in addressing some of the problems,” he said.
Abubakar announced that the air force had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with 15 universities to tap from their resources for the development of the air force.
“Having been in charge of the Research and Development Centre of Nigeria Air Force, I know we have very patriotic Nigerians in our universities that have been assisting us in the past.
“I will get them back to continue to partner together to address some of the challenges,” Abubakar said. …Read More
