Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has sacked Akeem Adedeji as chairman of the state’s taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences Unit less than two months after he assumed office.
Reason for his sack was not stated but sources said it has to do with shady deals while in office as taskforce chariman, a position he was appointed into late June 2015.
The news of his removal filtered in on Friday evening as staff in the taskforce were shocked.
Ambode has already replaced the sacked Taskforce Chairman with Olubukola Abey, a Superintendent of Police.
There have been reports and complains that places where the. Taskforce had cleared in the past like Obalende and Oshodi were being taken over again by hoodlums.
When he took over as taskforce chairman in June, Adedeji refused to use the spacious office left behind by his predecessor, Bayo Sulaiman and went to carve out another office for himself.
