2 Brothers In Court Over Theft Of Car Batteries

Two brothers, Tassiu Mohammed, 23, and Saminu Mohammed, 25, on Tuesday appeared in a Mararaba Grade 1 Area Court, over alleged theft of car batteries.
The brothers who reside at Mararaba were arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and theft.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Friday Adaji, said that Marcus Sana of Oando Filling Station, Aso Pada Mararaba, reported the matter at the Aso Pada Police Station on Aug. 10.
Adaji alleged that the accused persons conspired and stole two car batteries, one from a Honda car, and the other from a Toyota Carina parked inside the filling station.
He said that they were arrested while leaving the filling station.
The prosecutor said that the alleged offences contravened sections 97 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, denied the allegations levelled against them.
The Presiding Judge, Albert Maga, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 each, and one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case till Aug. 20, for further hearing. …Read More
