Suspected armed robbers and cultists paraded by the Ogun State police Command on Wednesday
As part of its efforts to rid the state of crimes, the Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday paraded 27 suspects who were arrested for various crimes at different locations in the state.
The suspects, who are mostly youths, were arrested by police operatives attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, and the Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, DCII, of the command.
According to the state police spokesman, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, some of those arrested are notorious cultists who have been allegedly terrorising Ijebu Ode and its environs.
It was gathered that the command had been on the trail of the suspected cultists who had been involved in many killings and crimes in Ijebu area of the state.
Two of the suspected cultists, who are confirmed members of a cult group, Aiye Confraternity, were also arrested recently for armed robbery.
They are Ahmed Olasunkanmi, a.k.a. Ahmed The Killer, 25, and Sadiq Muili, 24.
Other suspected cultists arrested for armed robbery include Adewale Olumide, 28, Rafiu Oluwatosin, 27, and Ifeanyi Idor, 27.
Also paraded by the state police boss, Abdulmajid Ali at the Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, was another gang of suspected armed robbers who specialised in snatching cars and robbery at gun point.
They include Ifeanyi Okeke, 34, Abiodun Taiwo, 39, Ola Hameed, 40, and Odion Osazuwa, 23.
The command also paraded additional 14 suspected cultists from Agbara area of the state.
Idris Adejuwonm, 24, and Muideen Bello, 26, were also paraded in connection with the August 5, 2015 killings in Ijoko, Otta in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of the state.
Items recovered from all the suspects include 10 vehicles, eight guns and several ammunition of different calibres.
