At least five persons have been reported dead following a gas explosion at a gas shop at Eliozu in Obio-Akpor local government area, a suburb of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Rivers state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Muhammad who confirmed the explosion said he was not sure of the actual figure of casualty.
According to him, the Police went to the scene of the incident to collate information immediately they heard about it.
According to him, gas vendors were refilling gas at the spot when the cylinder suddenly exploded.
