NUJ sets up disciplinary committee in Nasarawa State

The Executive Committee of the Correspondents Chapel of the NUJ, Nasarawa State Council, on Thursday set up a three-member disciplinary committee to monitor and sanction its members found wanting.
It said the measure was to deter the members from professional misconduct.
This is contained in a communique signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Suleiman Abubakar and Isaac Ukpoju, at the end of a meeting on Thursday in Lafia.
It also resolved to organise capacity building workshop for members of the chapel to enhance their productivity and adherence to the ethics of the journalism profession.
The communique urged members to always uphold the highest professional standard, to avoid pitfalls in their reportage of events.
It said that during the meeting, the committee deliberated on a report allegedly filed by one of its members. …Read More
