Olamide; Blew his top at The HeadiesOlamide Adedeji, Reekado Banks and Mavin Records lord, Don Jazzy are all trending on Twitter following Saturday’s early morning show of shame by Olamide at The Headies awards.
Olamide, who opened the list of award winners at the award ceremony held at Landmark Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, was angry because he claimed his protege, Lil Kesh deserves the Next Rated Award since he has had back to back hit songs all year round. But the highly coveted award was won by Mavin Records act, Reekado Banks. And the award comes with the bonus of a brand new Hyundai Car.
The blow up happened after one of YBNL artistes, Adekunle Gold won the Best Alternative song of the year. The whole YBNL crew stepped on stage to join Adekunle Gold to receive the award. Lil Kesh also joined and prostrated on the stage for Olamide. That’s when the YBNL boss took the mic and went ballistic.
And in the full glare of live audience and millions of television viewers across Africa, Olamide, the multi-talented rap star, threw caution to the wind as he furiously slammed the microphone, splashed a disposable cup laden with drink and then flung his cap into a stunned crowd at The Headies early Saturday morning.
He further exploded by throwing expletives on the Headies organisers and obviously Reekado Banks and his Mavin Records crew.
“Ko ni da fun Iya anybody” (It won’t be well with the recipient’s mother),” Olamide said angrily and stormed out of the event with his crew. …Read More
