Oba Aromolaran II celebrates Uyiarere festival in style

The Owa-Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II CFR; LLD, who is also the Chairman of the Osun State Council of Obas celebrated Uyiarere Festival in style on Saturday, 9 January in outstanding pomp and pageantry.
Just like the Iwude Ijesa festival, Uyiarere festival is a traditional celebration reputed to attract indigenes and foreigners to Ilesa. It is done in remembrance of the Uyiarere Ruling House of Ilesa which produced Oba Aromolaran II as the Owa-Obokun.
The festival was graced by the deputy governor of Osun state, Otunba Titi Laoye-Tomori who represented the state governor, Rauf Aregbesola at the occasion.
Traditional Rulers and chiefs from Osun, Kwara and other states were present as well as kings from the Republic of Benin.
