Ambode appoints Egberongbe as special adviser to Lagos Speaker

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state has approved the appointment of Mufutau Egberongbe, a former lawmaker in the state, as the Special Adviser on Legislative and Political Matters to the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
A letter signed by the Head of Service of the state, Mrs. Olabowale Adebola, confirmed the appointment.
“I wish to convey the approval of His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the Governor of Lagos State, for your appointment as the Special Adviser to the Honourable Speaker of the eighth Lagos State House of Assembly on Legislative and Political Matters,” part of the letter obtained by our correspondent on Thursday read.
Egberongbe is expected to bring his experience as a top politician in the state and as a lawmaker for eight years representing Apapa Constituency 1 to bear in his new duties.
As a member of the House leaving in 2015, Egberongbe served in various committees with one of the last being the Committee on Physical Planning and Urban Development.
Egberongbe is credited to have moved many motions, supported others and helped to resolve various crises and communal clashes in the state as a lawmaker in the state.
He also spent more of his presence at the Assembly canvassing for the relocation of tank farms in Apapa to ease the traffic gridlocks for which the area has become known.
Part of his argument had also being that apart from posing serious danger to the residents of the area, the tank farms were a security risk.
A grassroot politician, he has continued with his empowerment and sporting programmes for residents of Apapa even after leaving office. …Read More
