The Customs Area One Command, Apapa under the leadership of Comptroller Egbudin Willy has told statkeholders at a meeting in Apapa that the Command generated N23.4bn in January 2016.
The CAC said the achievement in the revenue generated was in line with the 3-point agenda of the Comptroller General (CG), Col. Hameed Ali, which is to restructure, reorganize and to generate revenue.

“We will pray that this year, we should be able to at least generate between N400 billion and N500 billion and that is our collective expectation,” he said.
Willy emphasized the need for synergy among the stakeholders, all the relevant government agencies and parastatals in the area of trade facilitation.
“I wish to state that my office is open for all genuine excuses as I resume 7.30am and close around 5.30pm and everybody intending to see me would be attended to,” he stated.
He appealed to the stakeholders not to engage in false declaration of goods.
According to him, all efforts to reduce smuggling to the barest level would be made as the anti-smuggling squads are up to the task. …Read More
