It’s the season of love and Nigeria’s fast rising vocalist Simi isn’t taking any chances as she has seized the Valentine period to serenade her fans with her latest love single titled “Love Don’t Care”.
The new track, which is mixed and mastered by Simi has the rhythmic feel of the guitar by Fiokee and was produced by Oscar. It sees the young diva displaying her love for simple soul music.
Simi, the impeccable music storyteller, uses the song to argue that love is indeed beyond tribe, money, societal status, race or belief.
She explains to people the true meaning of Valentine and ascertaining that love can’t be stopped from expressing its true essence.
“Love doesn’t care about anything but Love,” the pretty and petite singer said.
Born Simisola Bolatito Ogunleye, Simi is a Mass Communications Graduate. She wrote her very first tune at the age of 10 and started out singing and dancing in her early teens as a member of the teenage church choir.
Eventually, she went on to launch her debut album in 2008, which was produced by Samklef. The album spawned hits such as Ara Ile, Ogaju, Iya Temi, to name a few.
Simi warmed her way into the hearts of music lovers with the release of the song “Jamb Question”, a song which got an amazing review from music buffs and critics.
She recently released a dance video ‘Open and Close’ a polish blend of Pop and Fuji music.
Her outstanding talent together with her mastery of music and sound has made her songs some of the most aired songs on Nigerian airwaves.
She recently made the YNaija/Y!Africa Magazine New Establishment List 2016. She also bagged three nominations at the just concluded The Headies.
Her genre of music is Afro-pop, although she also dabbles into pop and soul.
