4 abducted girls rescued, gangsters arrested

The Kaduna State Government’s Joint Special Anti-kidnapping Squad comprising military and police personnel have rescued four young girls abducted by kidnapers.
Samuel Aruwan, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Media and Publicity, who disclosed this to newsmen Saturday said the girls were rescued after a successful raid by the squad in Kateri area of Kachia Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, the security squad that was detailed to follow-up came under fire from the kidnappers, but the raid succeed in freeing the girls.
In a similar development, Aruwan disclosed that a notorious kidnapper, Abdullahi Ali, has been arrested following information from members of the public.
He also said that another suspected armed bandit, Mohammed Sani of Bakari village in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area in Katsina State was arrested by Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol team in a Joint Operation with the State’s Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police on Thursday 18 February, 2016.
“A gang of armed robbers had blocked the road along Gwagwada in Kachia Local Government Area of the state and were robbing motorists of their valuables, but distress calls from the victims received a prompt response from the police, leading to the arrest. Other gang members escaped with bullet wounds, while one AK-47 rifle, with three loaded magazine was recovered,” he explained.
While urging members of the public to be extra vigilant and report all suspicious movement within their environment, he said Kaduna State Government commends citizens for providing information to improve the security situation. …Read More
