Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Ojere, Abeokuta, western Nigeria, Friday matriculated 5,000 students in both full time and part time programmes in all the departments of the institution.
Addressing the fresh students, Rector of the institution, Prof. Oludele Adelanwa Itiola, said the school has maintained the highest quality of admitting students in various departments in a year as dictated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
He urged the matriculating students to focus on their education and abide by the school’s rules and regulations of which can make them graduate after their programmes in two years’ time.
Itiola added that the students should make the student handbook their Bible and Holy Quran that would guide them to be of good behaviour within the campus.
According to him, “I need to emphasize that Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta will continually lay credence to quality in our admission operations and systems. We need to, for example, maintain the highest quality in our admission processes and always endeavour to keep within regulatory policies as dictated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
“The fact that all our programmes are accredited, and our well-known status in Mass Communication, Accountancy and the Sciences, stand us out from our contemporaries.
“Our exploits in national development including, but not limited to, the production of Solar-powered streetlights, Tricycles, Kerosene-Petrol combining generating set, fueless generating set, Electronic ballot box, to list but a few, prominently indicate that we are not a mere local champion,” Itiola boasted.
In his remarks, the Director, Student Affairs Officer, Mr Seyi Sobande said the school authorities had extended the closure of the student’s registration to Monday, 29 February.
He declared that any student that failed to complete his/her registration on or before the date, shall be made to pay a sum of N5,000 for late form.
