Edo guber: Group mobilise support for Obaseki

Dr Gowdin ObasekiAhead of this year’s gubernatorial election in Edo state, political pressure group, Edo Accord Initiatives (EAI) is taking advantage of the ample time created by the September date announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for the election to sell their ‎candidate to the electorate.
Before now, many had ‎anticipated that the election will hold much earlier than the time table recently announced by INEC which scheduled party primaries for June and the election proper for September this year.
EAI which has embarked on massive ward to ward mobilisation of its members and the general public to drum support for the Chairman of Edo State Economic Team, Dr. Godwin Obaseki, who allegedly has the support and full backing of the state governor, Adams Oshiomhole.
‎The tour took executive members of the group to the Edo central senatorial district of the state where they addressed members in Uromi, Igueben and other major towns in the area.
‎Addressing a large gathering of its members in Uromi, Comrade Siaka Momodu, reminded them that the vision of Edo Accord was to support the good governance of Adams Oshiomhole’s administration by giving support to whoever he recommends as his successor.
He urged them to “come together and foster the modalities of projecting Dr. Godwin Obaseki from our delegates.”
Also addressing their members in Igueben, Emeka Umeh, said their visit was to consolidate on their local mobilisation of members as a way of giving support to the governor.
He urged them to work assiduously to ensure that ‎the governor’s choice emerges as candidate of the APC and eventually voted as governor of the state.
