Three suspected cultists arrested, arms, car recovered

Efforts of the Ogun State Police Command to clamp down on cultists, kidnappers and other criminals in the state are yielding positive result as the Command has again arrested three suspected cultists.
The suspects were said to have been terrorising Oke-Oko and Igborufu communities at Ogijo area in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State on Saturday around 5:00 p.m.
The suspects are Lekan Babatunde, Segun Owodunni and Musa Ibrahim.
Items recovered from them include one locally made single barell gun, live cartridges, cutlasses, photographs of some suspected members, charms and a car with Reg. No. LAGOS VF 117 KJA.
According to a press release signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, he revealed that the trio were picked up at different locations within the state.
The statement further explained that one of the suspects, Lekan Babatunde, was arrested in the house of Yusuf Muftau, who is the ring leader but now at large.
“The suspects, who had assembled at Oke-Oko for a meeting and initiation of some newly recruited members, fled the scene when the police operatives attached to Ogijo Division of the command, led by the Divisional Police Officer, pounced on them.
“With a good follow up of useful information given to the police, the suspects were rounded up and arrested,” the statement said.
Residents of these communities who have been victims of all cult related crises commended the police for the good job and eventual arrest of the notorious and deadly hoodlums, who, according to the release, “have imposed fears in the minds of the general public in the axis of the state.”
