Eid-el-Fitr: NSCDC deploys 5,000 personnel to Kaduna


The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, said on Tuesday that it had deployed 5,000 personnel to ensure hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in the state.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Ascii Terzungwe, the Command’s Public Relations officer in Kaduna.

The statement quoted the NSCDC Commandant in the state, Alhaji Modu Bunu, as giving the assurance in a Sallah message in Kaduna.

Bunu expressed readiness of the command to collaborate with the residents and other security agencies to ensure hitch free Eid-el-Fitr celebrations in the state.

The commandant urged members of the public to report suspected objects, acts and persons to security agencies for necessary action.

He said that uniformed and plain cloth armed personnel had been deployed to prevent any breach of peace before, during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

The state NSCDC commandant expressed satisfaction with the conduct of Islamic faithful during this year’s Tafsir,

Bunu urged all residents of the state irrespective of ethnic and religious inclinations to embrace peace.

“All developmental efforts by government will not thrive in an environment where peace and stability are not entrenched, hence, the need for all persons to shun violence under any guise,” Bunu warned.
