Yakubu Dogara, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, is to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari today meet with the over the 2016 budget padding controversy.
Recently, Jibrin accused the Speaker, his deputy, Yusuf Lasun; Chief Whip, Alhassan Ado Danguwa and Minority Leader, Leo Ogor of attempting to illegally insert over N40bn into the 2016 budget.
The meeting which is scheduled at the instance of Yakubu Dogara is to take place on Friday after the Jumat prayers at the Presidential villa, Abuja.
According to Punch reports, Dogara’s meeting with President Buhari is to afford him the opportunity to explain himself as it concerns the ongoing budget padding controversy.
The report quoted a source as saying, “The President will be meeting with the Speaker after Jumat on Friday (today).
“The meeting will hold around 2.30pm in the President’s office.
“There is nothing unusual in the two leaders meeting. They do so regularly, but I know this one is at the instance of the Speaker.”
